*CANCELLED* SAM AMIDON+ EAMON O'LEARY

Prepare for some serious sound-play, as Sam Amidon comes to Birmingham. His most recent 2017 album, The Following Mountain, released on Nonesuch Records, had the hooks that hooked ears in, including Esquire magazine, who hailed the record as “Surreal and Magical”, The Guardian, who said it was infused with “constant, jolting surprises” and Wondering Sound who said “Amidon is doing to folk what Arthur Russell did to disco and dance music: The components are taken context-free and mixed around. He can recognize the patterns of bluegrass or jazz or indie rock without being bound to them”. You don’t get those kind of rave-reviews for no reason. See what all the fuss is about yourself with this spectacular live show.

Plus support from EAMON O’LEARY

Eamon O’Leary is songwriter from New Yorks Lower East Side, originally from Dublin, Ireland. All Souls his first album for Reveal Records was entirely self-written, and recorded with Jefferson Hamer (Anais Mitchell), and Benjamin Lazar Davis (Cuddle Magic, Joan As Police Woman, Okkervill River). A beautiful, sparse album of darkness and light. All Souls is ten songs that highlight OLeary’s musical talent and his knack for writing heartfelt, poetic lyrics. Like Leonard Cohen, Smog, Jackson C. Frank and Palace before him, this is music from deep within the mind and from the soul, personal stories wrapped in extremely delicate layers of sound. Eamon O’Leary has spent twenty years in New York developing his songcraft, appearing live and collaborating with esteemed artists such as Sam Amidon, Beth Orton, Bonnie Prince Billy, Anais Mitchell, Anna and Elizabeth, Martin Hayes (The Gloaming) Jefferson Hamer, Bridget Kearney (Lake Street Dive) and Benjamin Lazar Davis. All souls is released on June 29th LP/CD/DL on Reveal Records.
