Sheffield’s RedFaces return to Birmingham following the release of lead singles Take It Or Leave It’ and ‘Wise Up’, both being follow-ups to their 2016 debut release ‘Kerosene’ which made top 5 on the indie vinyl chart. The band last year played Great Escape Festival, as well as Dot to Dot, Community and Truck Festival.

2017 was a jam-packed year for the band, from playing a sold out set at Live at Leeds, to sponsoring the kit for their local football team Ecclesall Rangers, RedFaces are showing no signs of slowing down.

RedFaces are four lads from Sheffield treading what was once a well-worn path, these days the road less travelled. The journey started at 2Fly Studios in Sheffield, recording demos with Alan Smyth, the man behind the Arctic Monkey’s first ventures. Out of these sessions came the band’s first release ‘Katie Come Home’ in early 2015 – championed by BBC Introducing it also attracted the attention of the London A&R fraternity, eventually signing with RCA last year.

Could these be the next big thing? Quite possibly.

British indie-rock band Karkosa were formed in Birmingham in 2014 by brothers Michael and Jack Warnock. After recruiting Tom Rushton on lead guitar, Ryan Trott on bass and Will Clews on Keyboard, the band wrote and recorded a batch of songs in 2017 putting them online. Their melodic, propulsive rock sound is heavily inspired by Catfish and the Bottlemen, Royal Blood and Foo Fighters. ‘The Devil’s Greatest Trick’, the band’s inaugural release arrived in 2016 followed by ‘Monarchy’, ‘Sheffield’ and ‘Where the River Flows’ in 2017.
