*SOLD OUT* OCTOBER DRIFT+ DEAD NAKED HIPPIES + VIOLET

‘Sugar coated power-rock’ – Q Magazine

October Drift have shared their new single, ‘Losing My Touch’. The track is the first release since signing to their new label, Physical Education Records.

An immersive wall of distortion envelopes the powerful fragility of frontman Kiran Roy’s vocals, while he paints a verbal landscape of introspection, despair and hope amid a sonic palette that evokes both the driving, spacious absorptivity of My Bloody Valentine and the poetic, visceral honesty of Nick Cave’s lyricism.

“It’s a song about trying to keep your head above the water,” says Kiran. “It was written at a time when everyone around me seemed to be moving on with their lives and I was stuck in the same place. It’s basically about the fears of getting older and underachieving, but trying not to let it get to you and even staying optimistic in spite of those fears”

‘Losing My Touch’ follows the band’s previous singles ‘All Broken Down’ and ‘Come And Find Me’, released to widespread acclaim last year. With influences as varied as The National, Radiohead, Interpol and Nick Drake, their heavy, pop-inflected rock is delivering a rejuvenating injection of fresh blood to the genre.

‘Brooding, personally-etched song writing’ – Clash

Dead Naked Hippies are relentless, punchy alternative-rock outsiders. The trio fronted by force-of-nature frontwoman Lucy Jowett will lull you in with subtlety before taking your head off with their wall of sound.

They are a force to be reckoned with live. With huge guitars, booming drums and Jowett’s banshee-like approach hitting hard, with freneticism and attitude to boot.

Midlands indie quintet Violet come drenched in big sounds with an indie spark, blending sugary sweet pop melodies with heavier 90’s grunge influences. Pedal immersed guitars combined with intricate drums and powerful basslines intertwine to create a unique ethereal, yet captivating sound.

Violet arrived with their debut single “Feel” in late 2017, which received a feature on Huw Stephen’s Radio 1 show. The track was followed by the singles “Jaded”, “Heaven Adores You” and “Wilt”, all of which received acclaim from Clash and Dork while being rotated heavily on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6music show.

Their upcoming EP illustrates a breakthrough and a clear vision in the bands sound. It’s set to be released on October 18th, 2019, with the first single “Pure Blue” to be released on the 20th September.

“Ebullient energy and rambunctious riffs, the taut rock energy of Violet’s songwriting is matched to some deft pop moments.” – Clash Magazine
