Harico have burst onto the University scene combining elements of psychedelic rock, indie pop and disco sounds with a big stage presence and tight musicianship which has developed a loyal local following. Formed at UoB in 2017, the first three members bonded over music tastes and baked beans, and began jamming over demos in a small halls kitchen. Completing the line up with a skilled drummer at a Society event set the wheels in motion, and they don’t look to be slowing any time soon.

The Uptone Girls are an innovative all-female acapella group from the University of Birmingham.

Since the group was founded in 2010, they’ve gone from strength to strength. They arrange and choreograph all their own music, from Beyonce to their Drum and Bass medley. They’ve done wedding proposals, a concert in the Hippodrome and in 2017 they were selected to be part of BBC1’s Saturday Night singing show Pitch Battle. More recently, they worked alongside Deke Sharon and Universal Studios in the promotion of Pitch Perfect 3. Despite this, they’re still in their element singing in their home ground Selly Oak!
