Laura Oakes announces Birmingham show

A two-time winner of Best Female Vocalist at the British Country Music Awards and a Top 5 artist on the iTunes UK Country Music Chart, Laura Oakes has the room-silencing voice and songwriting chops to rival her heroes Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride.

Laura Oakes will play on Thursday 12th March 2020 at The Cuban Embassy Birmingham. Tickets are on sale here.

Support slots have included performances for Lauren Alaina, Devin Dawson, Jimmie Allen,  Andrew Combs, The Sisterhood, Sarah Darling, Jenn Bostic, The Shires, Ward Thomas, Catherine McGrath, Hudson Taylor, Lewis + Leigh and The Wandering Hearts.

Most recently Laura has been touring with Tom Walker, performing the Zara Larsson part of “Now You’re Gone” and it’s been going down a storm not only on the live circuit (one packed out John Peel tent at Glastonbury) but also XFM, Sara Cox on ITV Breakfast and BBC Radio 2 for Zoe Ball. She also embarks on his Japanese and Australian tour in 5 weeks.

Just a few weeks ago Laura released her version of Love is Like a Butterfly (Dolly Parton) with Mahogany Blog x COVERS. Catch it HERE.

Hot off stage from playing to a packed out crowd at London’s C2C, Country to Country festival, Laura’s festival CV is one to admire with previous performances The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City, Camp Bestival, Cornbury, The Long Road, Black Deer, Secret Garden Party and Cambridge Folk Festival.

Laura spent much of the year working hard writing with some of the world’s best songwriters in Nashville and London including James T Slater (Martina McBride), Beth Nielson Chapman (Faith Hill) and Jason Lehning (Alison Krauss). Now she’s armed with a collection of fantastic songs ready to release as an EP in Feb/March 2020.

Pulling on only the greatest influencers from Kacey Musgraves, Marren Morris to Jessie Ware and Ariana Grande. It’s easy to see how these world class vocalists have inspired Laura to write her best and genre blurring songs to date.
