Cabbage announce Birmingham show

Cabbage are Manchester-based five-piece, serving up an idiosyncratic, satirical attack in the form of discordant neo post-punk.

Produced by James Skelly & Rich Turvey (Blossoms, She Drew The Gun) at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios, the Manchester five-piece’s current single ‘Kevin’ is available now on Infectious Music. Co-starring cult Manchester busking band The Piccadilly Rats, the song’s video was shot last month in Piccadilly Gardens and directed by Dom Foster.

With “the black humour of Buzzcocks, the surrealism of Happy Mondays, the haircuts of various Stone Roses” (i-D), Cabbage are a semi-controlled riot of tunes, energy and opinions. NME described their debut EP Le Chou as “five twisted post-punk slinkers stuffed with explicit lyrics and Jack White levels of rage” while The Guardian suggested that “they’re hell-bent on filling the current vacancy for rock’n’roll commentator on Brexit Britain.”

Cabbage’s new label Infectious Music have re-pressed Young, Dumb And Full Of…, the band’s debut long-player. Originally released for Record Store Day – and selling out immediately – the LP compiles the Manchester band’s three four-track EP’s released in late 2016.
