Beans on Toast + Will Varley + My Name is Ian @ Hare & Hounds

Wednesday sees us welcome Beans On Toast to the Hare & Hounds after an incredible year which saw him support Flogging Molly on their US tour and perform to over 100,000 people in just one week whilst opening Frank Turner’s UK stadium tour. Marking the release of his sixth studio album with Xtra Mile Recordings, as is tradition on his 1st December birthday, ‘The Next Album Tour 2014’ will be an unforgettable experience as the singer, storyteller and guitar player’s self-deprecating nature goes a long way to break down the barriers between musician and audience, creating a real sense of equality. Support comes from London folksinger Will Varley and the unique My Name is Ian. Tickets are available here.

Hiss Golden Messenger + Phil Cook @ Hare & Hounds

We are delighted to welcome Hiss Golden Messenger to Birmingham this week following his support slot on Ben Howardrecent UK tour. HGM is currently harvesting rave reviews for his new album Lateness Of Dancers (Merge Records) and was recently featured in a 5 page article in Uncut magazine and had NME declare it an “Americana record of immense spiritual and musical grace”. HGM’s live band includes the amazing multi instrumentalist Phil Cook (MegafaunThe Shouting MatchesGAYNGS) and bassist Cameron Ralston of Matthew E White’s band. A gig not to be missed in Birmingham! Tickets available here.

Big Sixes + Natasha North + Alex Rainsford (BAND) @ The Sunflower Lounge

The week comes to close with a visit from Buckinghamshire trio Big Sixes. After a year of putting out free downloads, directing their own music videos and playing raucous DIY shows to a strong local following, the band self-released two singles ‘Swallowing Flies’ and ‘The Hunter’, the latter received air play from BBC Radio 1 and lead to the band joining Red Light Management and the Easy Life imprint at Sony Music. Support comes from hotly-tipped London-based songstress Natasha North and Worcestershire’s Alex Rainsford. Tickets are available here.
