The duo, made up of brothers Andy and James Stone, evoke the the classic woozy chorus and reverb laden guitars of Echo and The Bunnymen and the new wave pop sensibilities of Beach Fossils. Following successful appearances across the summer at various festivals including Secret Garden Party, Lusts continue to build their live presence with further UK/EU dates in September, October and November.

WATCH: Palace – ‘Head Above The Water ‘

July 28, 2015 in News

North London band Palace have had a rapid rise to fame since their debut EP Lost In The Night was released in 2014 winning fans in Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and picking up praise from NME and The Guardian. Now, signed to Fiction Records, they are giving their colourful indie track ‘Head Above The Water’ some abstract video treatment.

Director Oliver Hadlee Pearch says:

“When you are swept up by a wave, you are caught underwater. Not knowing which way is up or down left or right. This was sort of the starting point for this video. This idea of confusion. Concussion even. Dreams played a big part in this film. How many different scenes can sit side by side harmoniously. I wanted to try and create mini narratives which all lead the same way yet are completely removed from each other. Tied together. Across the video we want the audience to be hypnotized, drawn in yet not knowing why or how”

Palace’s Chase The Light EP is out now. ‘Head Above The Water’, a sensual, sun-streaked love song worthy of Jeff Buckley, will be released as a single on September 7th via Fiction Records.

Watch: Gabrielle Aplin – ‘Light Up The Dark’

May 20, 2015 in News

Following the success of her debut album English Rain, Bath-born songstress Gabrielle Aplin announces details of the release of her eagerly anticipated second album Light Up The Dark.

New single and title track ‘Light Up The Dark’ sees Gabrielle adopt a much heavier, darker sound than the gentle folk-pop of her debut release. Influenced by Joni Mitchell and the production on Feist’s The Reminder, Gabrielle says:

“I’ve become much more comfortable writing songs about other people’s stories as well as my own, much of which is inspired by travelling and everything I’ve seen since my first album.”

Light Up The Dark is released on September 18th and is available to pre-order now from here.
