To Kill a King to play Mama Roux’s Birmingham

September 12, 2017 in News

To Kill A King have been crafting melodic folk that’s packed full of love, loss and heartbreak since their debut Cannibals With Cutlery, but it was 2015’s self-titled LP that really struck a chord with fans and critics alike.

Receiving support from BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and publications like Shortlist and The Guardian, it was an album that led to comparisons with bands like The Maccabees and The National, and took them to a huge headline date at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

The band’s new single ‘Spiritual Dark Age’ also comes with announcement of a headline tour for January 2018, which will called at Mama Roux’s Birmingham on Sat 20th. Described by singer Ralph Pelleymounter as “a bit of comfort for the long dark night of the soul,” ‘Spiritual Dark Age’ is To Kill A King at their irrepressible best. Marrying memorable, thought-provoking lyrics with dynamic production and outrageously catchy hooks, ‘Spiritual Dark Age’ grabs from the off and never lets up. ‘Spiritual Dark Age’ and recent single ‘‘The Good Old Days’ will feature on the To Kill A King’s third album due early 2018.
