Tigercub to play The Flapper Birmingham

August 8, 2017 in News

Brighton trio Tigercub, who have previously played with the likes of Pulled Apart By Horses, Demob Happy & Youth Man, return to Birmingham to celebrate the release of their brand new EP Evolve or Die. set for release on 29th September via Alcopop! Records.

From the start, Evolve or Die was the band’s mantra for the next step in their creative evolution, and would be the title of the record before they even set foot in the studio. As a release in the Tigercub canon, Evolve or Die is the latest leg of an introspective journey for a band transitioning into something entirely different, a path to somewhere new and exciting.

Evolve or Die is not a reincarnation, or a reinvention. Collectively, the band’s diverse tastes in music, the vast pool of inspiration between the three of them, their obsessive drive to learn, comprehend, even assimilate and re-interpret musical technique are deeply present within the band’s presentation of songs over their catalogue so far. It’s the latest adaptation for survival from a band who want their fans to expect the unexpected on each and every release.

October 29, 2015 in News

Brighton’s grunge-pop trio Tigercub have shared a new song, titled ‘Antiseptic’. It’s the second track from their upcoming EP Repressed Semantics, due for release November 27th via Venn Records.

The band describe the EP as, “a bi-polar mixture of songs that represent to us, a cocktail of aggression and restraint, bottled up frustration and an absolute rejection of ideals presented to us by a divorcee-generation of self medicated baby-boomers. The old rules no longer apply. You are your life and nothing else”.

After touring the UK with Royal Blood and becoming Zane Lowe’s “Next Hype” on Radio 1, Tigercub are on track to become one of 2015ʼs breakthrough acts.

Tigercub & Youth Man to play The Rainbow

August 10, 2015 in News

After touring the UK with Royal Blood and becoming Zane Lowe’s “Next Hype” on Radio 1, Brighton’s grunge-pop trio Tigercub are on track to become one of 2015ʼs breakthrough acts.

2014 saw them make huge waves after being chosen as sole-support on Royal Blood’s sell out UK tour in February. Since then they have been playing to packed crowds up and down the UK supporting The Bronx, The Family Rain, Blood Red Shoes and Dinosaur Pile-Up. After the success of their debut single ‘Blue Bloodʼ Tigercub have begun to cement their own reputation as a fierce live proposition and are steadily building a fan base of hungry rock fans.

Out on August 7th via Too Pure, latest single ‘Destroy’ is an off kilter piece of alt rock which nods to the 90s while remaining perfectly happy with its place in 2015.

Birmingham trio Youth Man create creepy, angry, feral music and storm through a venue like a bull in a china shop, levelling everything in sight. Their hyperactive take on post punk sounds like Pixies playing Minutemen covers whilst under the influence of Dead Kennedys and amphetamines. By the end of their brakeless juggernaut of a show – once the ringing in your ears has subsided – you’ll have plenty to talk about.
