SELLING FAST: Gabrielle Aplin, Hadouken & Pigeon Detectives

January 31, 2013 in News

Very busy week here at Birmingham Promoters HQ so we thought we’d give you a heads up as to which events are close to selling out!

First up we have 19-year-old Internet sensation Gabrielle Aplin, who embarks on her 6th headline UK tour this March, taking her mesmerising voice across the length and breadth of the country – including The Institute Birmingham on Thurs 14th March.

Gabrielle has been riding high in the UK singles chart with her enchanting cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s classic track ‘The Power of Love’, which reached the Number 1 spot back in December. There are only a handful of tickets left for this event.

“This is as close to perfect as anything you’ll hear … Her voice is more fragile than a china doll and has more soul than Adele”- MTV

GABRIELLE APLIN PLAYS THE INSTITUTE BIRMINGHAM ON THURS 14TH MARCH 2013. TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE.

Next up we have the return of the UK’s biggest underground band, Hadouken!, who on 18th February 2013 will release their third album ‘Every Weekend’ on their own imprint Surface Noise Recordings.

Hadouken! occupy a completely unique spot in modern British music. They’re at the very forefront of UK Bass, the most exciting and dominant sound of the era, but they’re also a hair-raising live act who can get a hall packed with teenagers moshing and raving – often at the same time. They’re the sound of every high street on a Saturday night, of every provincial rave, of a lunchtime Radio 1 tent at Reading Festival so full that the throng stretches out into the field, forcing elderly passers by to ask “who is that group?!”. But the kids know alright.

HADOUKEN! PLAY THE INSTITUTE BIRMINGHAM ON TUES 23RD APRIL 2013. TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE.

And finally, a band that need no introduction, West Yorkshire’s finest hitmakers The Pigeon Detectives are back in 2013 with a brand new album, single and accompanying May UK tour including Birmingham’s The Institute.

The band who have sold over 500,000 albums, played multiple Reading & Leeds festivals, and been championed by the likes of NME, Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley, return with new single ‘Animal’ taken from their upcoming fourth studio album. Premiered by Zane Lowe on 22nd January, the track is available to buy now via all good online retailers.

The Pigeon Detectives aren’t just still standing, they’re about to embark on their most honest, raw, real and exciting phase yet. Tickets are absolutely flying out for this show, so we suggest buying asap!

THE PIGEON DETECTIVES PLAY WED 1ST MAY 2013 AT THE INSTITUTE BIRMINGHAM. TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE.

A band who need no introduction, West Yorkshire’s finest hitmakers The Pigeon Detectives are back in 2013 with a brand new album, single and accompanying May UK tour including Birmingham’s The Institute.

The band who have sold over 500,000 albums, played multiple Reading & Leeds festivals, and been championed by the likes of NME, Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley, return with new single ‘Animal’ taken from their upcoming fourth studio album.

Premiered by Zane Lowe on 22nd January, the track is available as a free download from the bands website until 28th January, when it goes on sale via all good online retailers.

“Animal is one of those song that we knew would work well in front of a live audience as soon as we started writing it. It’s an exciting tune with a raw sinister edge to it, but it still retains all the catchiness usually associated with The Pigeon Detectives. We all agreed it was the song to set our stall out with and the in your face guitars is a statement of intent.” - Matt Bowman (vocals)

The Pigeon Detectives aren’t just still standing, they’re about to embark on their most honest, raw, real and exciting phase yet. We suggest you get on board.

THE PIGEON DETECTIVES PLAY THE INSTITUTE BIRMINGHAM ON WED 1ST MAY 2013. TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE.
