JAWS announce Birmingham show

June 7, 2017 in News

Fabled Birmingham dream-pop trio JAWS have unfurled an unadulterated anthem of defiance ahead of a string of UK festival appearances and their newly announced 2017 headline tour.

‘Cast’ (released March 20th) is the final track to be taken from the band’s widely-lauded 2017 album Simplicity – a release laden with melodic hooks and daydream sensibilities – lionised as their most accomplished and realised offering to date.

A sonic manifestation of temerity ‘Cast’ – evokes a sense of self-determination and of overcoming inner turmoil. An official video comprised of live footage from the Simplicity Tour .

B-Town’s A-Team will be leading the charge at a succession of UK Festival slots that includes Y NotTruck and Neighbourhood.

JAWS announce intimate Birmingham show

September 23, 2015 in News

Following a phenomenal headline show at The Institute earlier this year, Brummie favourites JAWS play an exclusive intimate Christmas show at the Hare & Hounds on Sun 16th December 2015. Capacity is super limited, so make sure you pick up your tickets asap!

With their summer of festivals now wrapped up, JAWS unleash new single ‘What We Haven’t Got Yet’. Following on from this summer’s fiery ‘Bad Company’ single, ‘What We Haven’t Got Yet’ showcases a muscular side to the band’s melodic indie-rock. Taken from their soon-to-be-announced second full-length, it sees the newly slimmed-down three-piece fine tune every element of their being, as they venture between both shimmering melody and grunge-inspired riffing with ease.

The single comes alongside details of a month-long run of intimate dates for the band, who are set to take material both new and old across the UK this November and December.

Son Of Dave @ The Rainbow

Churning out the hits of yesteryear and today, legendary bluesman Son of Dave will be heading to Birmingham with his unmistakable music, made with harmonica, beatbox, percussion and a loopstation. Last November saw the launch of a new series of “Filthy 45′s” where Son of Dave took on some classic (and not so classic) tunes, giving them his own unmistakable mistreatment. Already known for his renditions of ‘Bonkers’ –Dizzie Rascal, ‘Black Betty’ – Ram Jam, ‘Bom Bom’ – Sam and the Womp, and many more, he decided to bow to public demand and crank out more crowd pleasers. His live show has already toured five continents and earned him a cult status amongst a diverse audience. With a CV as long as your arm and a briefcase full of naughty tricks, this is not to be missed. Tickets are available here.

The Bots @ The Rainbow Cellar

The US garage-rock duo, who have received praise from Zane Lowe & Rolling Stone, released their debut album Pink Palms in October 2014 to widespread critical acclaim. They duo have already kicked off 2015 in winning fashion with themmbeing named “L.A.’s most celebrated rock duo” by LA Weekly and featured in Interview Magazine’s “15 Faces of 2015”. They made their national TV debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers, in February 2015, performing their single ‘Blinded’. Tickets are available here.

God Damn + Elephantine + Bad Girlfriend + False Grails @ The Sunflower Lounge *SOLD OUT*

Dropped like a pipe-bomb into the British rock scene, Wolverhampton noise makers God Damn released their debut album Vultures on 11th May to widespread praise. A dizzying blend of barbed wire guitars, lung-shredding vocals and drums that run away like wild horses. It’s all the more effective when you learn God Damn are a stripped-down two-piece. Their set-up has naturally drawn comparisons to fellow rising bands such as Slaves and Royal Blood (we’re inclined to name-check Winnnebago Deal and Wet Nuns at this juncture too) but really that is where comparisons to duos end. God Damn always call themselves “a band.” Support comes from local noise rockers Elephantine, heavy garage rockers Bad Girlfriend and False Grails. More info can be found here.
