Gabrielle Aplin, Lewis Watson & Hannah Grace live

February 2, 2016 in News

“Effortlessly switching form sultry, hypnotic sounds to more upbeat jazz melodies, Gabrielle Aplin’s second album is exactly what we wanted to hear.” – 5/5, Glamour

Following the positive reception that greeted her new album Light Up The DarkGabrielle Aplin approaches a major UK and Ireland headline tour that includes a Birmingham show at O2 Institute!

Light Up The Dark adds a new chapter to a career that has already delivered 80 million Spotify streams, 90 million YouTube views, 1.5 million sales of single, and #1 chart positions in the UK and Australia over the course of her debut album English Rain. Her second album has already received extensive Radio 1 support with a playlist for the title track as well as Huw Stephens’ Hottest Record followed by a second playlist for the recent single ‘Sweet Nothing’.

The new album was inspired by Joni Mitchell and the production on Feist’s The Reminder. “Her voice is just here, right at the front, and everything sits around it perfectly,” says Aplin. “I’ve also become much more comfortable writing songs about other people’s stories as well as my own, much of which is inspired by travelling and everything I’ve seen since my first album.”

Gabrielle’s recent underplay show at London’s Wilton’s Music Hall sold-out in less than 24 hours. The Evening Standard’s review drew comparisons with Florence + The Machine and Feist, and concluded that it was “A mini-triumph; greater ones will come.”

Andreas Moe & Hannah Grace to support Gabrielle Aplin

March 6, 2013 in News

We are very excited to announce that the supports for Gabrielle Aplin’s sold out show at The Institute Birmingham on Thurs 14th March have been confirmed as Andreas Moe and Hannah Grace.

His looks have been compared to James Dean. His guitar playing has been compared to John Mayer. But Andreas Moe’s voice and songwriting are something to which nothing can be compared. Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, this 24 year old singer songwriter confesses that his journey has taken some unpredictable turns…

Andreas’ main inspiration when writing his current EP entitled My Side Of The Bed were artists like Beirut, Bon Iver, and even Kanye West, although he describes the final sound as The Script meets Robyn meets Prince. “Electronic but Organic.”  The songs he has written cover his experiences with love, both positive and negative and are all inspired by one girl.  The heart features heavily in every single song and forms the emotional thread of the EP.

2012 blossomed into a great one for Andreas as he has seen further work with Tiesto, Fedde le Grand, Quintino, Avicii with releases imminent. Andreas’s  2nd EP This Year is set for UK release shortly.

Welsh born Hannah Grace has been singing since the tender age of 3. Almost immediately she began developing her style of singing drawing from a soul, gospel, folk and jazz. Now an accomplished songwriter and about to embark on her first UK tour with Gabrielle Aplin, the 19 year old hopes to charm audiences with stunning vocals and enchanting songs. With her first release soon after the tour 2013 looks bright for this young singer.
