Fickle Friends to play O2 Institute Birmingham

Fickle Friends have announced their biggest ever headline UK tour in October, calling at O2 Institute Birmingham on Sat 21st. This news comes fresh from supporting The Kooks on a sold-out headline tour in May and the release of their most ambitious single to date ‘Hello Hello’. The single is another perfectly crafted glittering pop gem and has seen significant Radio 1 support from the likes of Huw StephensGreg JamesMistajamAdeleAlice Levine and Cell Spellman.

Spring and summer will also see the band appear at Community Festival with Catfish and the Bottlemen in Finsbury Park in July, Secret Garden Party shortly after that and on to Reading & Leeds in August. With loads more to be confirmed soon, 2017 looks set to be Fickle Friends for the taking so stay tuned.

Fickle Friends to play The Rainbow Birmingham

Brighton five-piece Fickle Friends first caught people’s attention in 2014 when their debut single ‘SWIM’ amassed over 750,000 Soundcloud plays. After becoming HypeMachine’s 25th most blogged artist of 2014, the band also received acclaim from Zane LoweBillboard & BBC Introducing.

The quintet’s upbeat summertime synth-pop has made them a firm festival favourite, seen them support Birmingham garage-pop stalwarts JAWS, and had them playlisted at Radio 1.

Following a sold out show at The Sunflower Lounge last year, Fickle Friends return to Birmingham on Wed 9th March 2016 to headline The Rainbow.

Introducing: Fickle Friends

Last year saw Last year saw Brighton’s Fickle Friends release a string of successful singles, become a festival favourite and feature on BBC Radio 1, The Line Of Best Fit, Pitchfork, District MTV,  and even support Birmingham favourites JAWS.

Starting 2015 supporting Saint Raymond on his sold out UK tour, Fickle Friends are now gearing up for the release of their debut EP following announcements they will be appearing at SXSW and Best Kept Secret Festival, and embarking on their own headline tour this spring.

JAWS debut album ‘Be Slowly’ out now + Free Entry JAWS afterhow at The Sunflower Lounge

After an impressive string of hook-laden and immersive hazy garage-pop singles, JAWS‘ debut album, Be Slowly, is finally here and available now through iTunes. To celebrate its release, JAWS will be playing a sold out show at The Oobleck Birmingham on Saturday 20th September with support from Fickle Friends and Milk Teeth.

The Offical JAWS Aftershow will immediately follow and be held at The Sunflower Lounge. It’s a completely FREE ENTRY event and will include live sets from BP faves The Grafham Water Sailing Club and Dumb, plus DJ sets from JAWS, Juice, Jacky P, Pink Violence and Zombie Prom DJs.

B-Town favourites JAWS have revealed a brand new single entitled ‘Swim’, premiered by none other than Huw Stephens on Radio 1, and taken from their hotly-anticipated debut album Be Slowly.

The past year and a half has seen this young Birmingham four-piece churn out a steady and impressive output of hook-laden and immersive hazy garage pop, from singles ‘Donut’ and ‘Surround You’ to ‘Friend Like You’, ‘Stay In’ and ‘Gold’, all now staunch live favourites. It has seen them record a live session for Huw Stephens, guest on the Phil Taggart & Alice Levine show and play a succession of headline shows around the UK culminating in a triumphant sold out headline homecoming show at Birmingham’s The Institute, as well as having their songs appear on the unlikely cross-section from Made In Chelsea to Match Of The Day, with ‘Stay In’ featuring on Rocksmith 2014 (PS3 / XBOX360).

Debut album Be Slowly is due for release via Rattlepop on 14th September and can be pre-ordered via iTunes here (which includes instant access to singles ‘Think Too Much, Feel Too Little’, ‘Be Slowly’ and ‘Swim’). To celebrate the quartet embark on a headline UK tour this autumn, including an intimate home-town show at new venue The Oobleck, in the heart of Digbeth’s Custard Factory on Sat 20th September. This show will see the band joined by Brighton’s Fickle Friends and Bristol’s Milk Teeth as supports.
