JAWS announce Birmingham supports

January 16, 2015 in News

Birmingham favourites JAWS have announced the supports for their biggest hometown headline show to date – Saturday 7th March at The Institute.

Joining them on this date will be London slacker-rock trio Happyness, Manchester garage-pop quintet Spring King and Birmingham’s grunge quartet Cold Ocean Lies. Grab your tickets asap here.

Happyness

Following in the footsteps of fellow slacker-rock bands such as Yuck and Mazes, Happyness debut album, Weird Little Birthday, has been labelled a ‘low key joy’.  The South London trio specialize in lush-yet-breezy indie rock combined with witty and wry lyrics, elements that have seen them draw comparisons to the likes of Yo La Tengo, Pavement and Sparklehorse.

Receiving comparisons to the Black Lips and Wavves, Manchester five-piece Spring King are an energetic garage pop band led by Tarek Musa. Their debut EP Demons received 8/10 from NME who called them ‘promising… full of rancid punk and rickety garage’.
