Dolomite Minor & Baby Strange to play The Rainbow

January 28, 2015 in News

On Friday 6th February, Birmingham Promoters are thrilled to welcome two of the UK’s most exciting new bands for a special co-headline show – Southampton duo Dolomite Minor & and Glasgow three-piece Baby Strange.

Dolomite Minor serve up sleazy, raw rock’n’roll, laced with sweaty, head banging, tobacco stained riffs. Taking inspiration from Led Zeppelin, Queens of the Stone Age and Nirvana with their fuzzy blues sound. Joe’s killer vocals and dark, intense riffs grab you by the scruff of the neck.

After appearances at The Great Escape and Dot to Dot festival, Dolomite Minor’s year of big live music continued with dates on tour with Darlia and Lyger, as well as sets at T in the Park and Glastonbury.

Within weeks of putting their first demo online in 2012, Baby Strange were picking up airplay on Radio 1 and securing features in music blogs and publications across the country.

2013 saw the band support The Vaccines and feature in several festival bills over the summer, including T in the Park and Belladrum, before joining Palma Violets on their UK tour. Their gigs have earned the band a reputation for a raucous live show having played the BBC Introducingshowcase at KOKO in January and playing the NMEshowcase at this year’s Great Escape Festival. The band were also one of the first acts to be confirmed for Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Glasgow.

“Their debut is as good a manifesto as we’ve heard all year.”NME
