Plus support from MALLAVORA

Four 20-something students from Birmingham are bringing a new sound to 2017, a homemade mix of heavy music, light vocals and accessible lyrics.

Inspired by the Arctic Monkeys, Gallows and Radiohead, the band have released 2 singles together after over a year of endless jamming at Robannas studios which is just a stones throw away from their halls of residence.

Larry, guitarist, songwriter and student in mechanical engineering, started the band with Brad in first year of university as roommates. Not long after, the band evolved and they were joined by Ellis and Jack to make the full sound.

Plus support from SAVESTATE

The four members of Savestate are made up of various orphans from dissolved bands (Rubicava, Vault of Eagles, Dead Letter Office).

The music they play is angry, loud, soft, gentle, bitter and (they like to think) rather witty alt rock. The kind of euphoric, melodic, heavy but accessible alt rock that was everywhere in the 90s, but now appears to have been almost completely supplanted by indifferent DJs and ‘tasteful’ singer songwriters.

They have only been together for just under 6 months now, but are old souls and have just released their first single ‘Failed State’, written from the perspective of an artificial intelligence realising it’s about to be deleted. Yup. Nerds.
