“London’s most badass girl gang” – Dazed

Skinny Girl Diet are two sisters from North London who play raw, abrasive, in your face guitar music. Formed in 2011, when still young teenagers, their first gig was with the SlitsViv Albertine. While a three piece, with their cousin Amelia on bass, they played around the London area initially, earning touring stripes with the likes of Fat White Family and Slaves.

Last year, they appeared alongside legends John Cooper Clarke and The Raincoats. Described by Iggy Pop as “people who just want to reach out and grab your ears” when he played them on his 6Music show, the band have also seen airplay from XFM’s Jon Kennedy, BBC Radio 6’s Marc Riley, Gideon Coe and Steve Lamaq, and BBC Radio 1’s Rob Da Bank. They have graced the cover of Beat, can be spotted online and in magazines like Dazed and Confused, Vice, Vogue, Crack and The Guardian.

The debut album Heavyflow was released in September 2016 to great reviews from Drowned in Sound, The Line of Best Fit  and Louder Than War.

After launching their debut EP Are You Listening in February, Ideal Club’s neo-grunge sound has been impressing live audiences and critics alike.

Counteract Magazine described the EP as “hands aloft music” with “feral, ferocious riff work, and angst-riddled anthems”. In the first six months of 2017 the band has performed in Birmingham, Manchester, and London, and is looking forward to gigs around the UK, as they prepare for their follow up release at the end of 2017.

Four bodies, fuzz and guts. MUTT are female-fronted, raucous, yet at times, curiously melodic. Think Sonic Youth and L7 meets the LOUDquietLOUDquiet pop spunk of Pixies with a twist of The Cure. Hailing from Birmingham and formed in early 2014, this feisty four-piece twist their influences beyond recognition to create a unique brand of uncompromising, unapologetic rock.

Goskino have stomped their feet firmly at the head of the heavy fuzz garage rock scene, with a sound that is very raw, full of primal urges, and killer punch lines.

The duo of Tom Angell (vocals, guitar) and Greg McLeod (drums, vocals) are like two stoners brought up on razor wire garage rock with teenage angst frothing from their mouths. Their debut Fuzz Bomb is as raw and straight-to-the-point as you could wish for, with 11 tracks barely making 30 minutes, their DIY and punk ethos is a joy to listen to.
