Like old acquaintances Peckham trio Beaty Heart arrive with their debut record Mixed Blessings this spring, which sees them take and combine their tongue-in cheek attitude and pulsating personality to form 13 tracks of blissful psych-pop.

Recorded during the later end of 2013, with esteemed producer Dave Eringa, Mixed Blessings sees the band fulfil their early potential and deliver a record that shows their continuous journey; developing their tropical enfused pop with a more exposed structured sound, whilst retaining their strong percussive backbone and off-kilter left-field ethos.

With influences taken from The Beach Boys, Olivia Tremor Control, Lee Scratch Perry and pop music from around the world, Beaty Heart’s music and lyrical wit follows themes of escapism. The three-piece have recently supported the likes of Jungle, as well as being championed by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart & Alice Lavine, Rob Da Bank6Music’s Radcliff & Maconie, XFM and Amazing Radio.

And with opening support from MUTES

Forming in early 2013, Mutes began as the bedroom pop project of frontman James Brown. He toured during the summer as a one-man band, employing loopers, samplers and several guitar effects pedals to capture Mutes’ introspective sonic solo haze. 2014 sees Mutes blossoming into a full band and embracing the noisier aspects of their songs.

Influenced by the feedback draped sound of shoegaze heroes such as Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine, whilst retaining the dreamy, reverb washes of their early recordings, their EP will be released May 7th via One Note Forever records.
