SAM BROOKES+ LOW CHIMES + EVE PITT
London based songsmith Sam Brookes is one of the UK alt-folk’s best kept secrets. His acclaimed 2014 album Kairos was tipped by The Independent for a Mercury Prize nomination, and received support from the likes of Dermot O’Leary on BBC Radio 2.
Sam’s singing career began at an early age, filling the rafters of Her Majesty the Queen’s private chapel, as a chorister. Now his unmistakable, soaring vocal combined with crafty arrangements, deft guitar-playing and arresting lyrics delivers an aural patchwork that has been positively likened to Wild Beasts, Bon Iver, Nick Drake and Tim Buckley.
Sam is also the featured vocalist on the Basement Jaxx single ‘What A Difference Your Love Makes’ and has collaborated with the likes of Lucy Rose and Newton Faulkner.

Plus support from LOW CHIMES
Strongly tipped by the likes of Elbow’s Guy Garvey and 6Music’s Marc Riley, Low Chimes are an alt-folk band from Stroud. Following their two acclaimed EPs, released under previous name, Hot Feet, and a Summer of festival dates in 2016, the band’s debut album Illumine is set for release in Autumn 2017. Lauren Laverne, Marc Riley and Vic Galloway have all given early 6Music support to the first single off the album, ‘Sleepwalking’, which is out 14th April.
Now joined by former Laura Marling band member Pete Roe on keys, Low Chimes have developed a fuller sound, finding influences beyond folk, rock and blues. The core live elements remain, with the introduction of synths, samples and other electronics lending the music new shades and nuances. Layered too are Marianne’s lyrics which are often inspired by nature and seasonal change. Natural images are woven into narratives of new beginnings and letting go of the past, but often serve as metaphors for darker themes. Solitude, anxiety and escapism provide an uneasy backdrop to otherwise hopeful messages.
