PAWS+ VIRALS + FURROW

Following on from the success of our sold-out shows with Crystal Fighters, God Damn and The Wytches in the last few months, we’re delighted to announce that PAWS will be coming to Birmingham to play an intimate show for us.

A relentless touring schedule throughout their first three years together has seen PAWS tour the UK, Europe, USA and gather a strong and loyal fan base wherever they go. The band have toured with Japandroids, Bleached, We Are Scientists, The Cribs and have also previously been invited to open shows for The Breeders, Fucked Up, Mates Of State, No Age, Wavves, Ty Segall and many others. Spin Magazine placed the band in at number four on their “Top 50 Best Acts at SXSW Festival 2013”. PAWS release their sophomore album ‘Youth Culture Forever’ on June 2nd.

“Playing tunes that girls can like and playing shows that boys can take their girlfriends to; the kind of shows that you don’t leave saying “that was brilliant – i lost a tooth”.

‘There’s a similar sun-kissed, slothful energy to Virals’ music: it sounds simultaneously indolent and tunefully intense.’ – The Guardian

Furrow consist of duo Thom Snell & Richard Cartwright who have been signed to  San Diego based label Bleeding Gold Records. Their hotly anticipated new single ‘Deer Hunter’ can be purchased on Amazon or Itunes.

“These aesthetic symbols are all emblematic of one particularly dull brand of music: the painfully run-down, countryside cliché of ‘alt-folk’, but thankfully the music here has a lot more character to it. The distorted, ultra lo-fi ‘Concrete Floor’ is a fitting introduction with its Joy Division guitars and far-distanced vocals, ending up as a kind of blurry mash-up of the likes of Galaxie 500, Hüsker Dü, and Sonic Youth – ‘field-gaze’ as they call it. It’s not quite an original enough sound to warrant its own genre, but it does have that charismatic aura of an enchanting and entirely honest band.” - Three Beams
