MeMe Detroit oozes indie/grunge sultry guitar with a 90s influence that’s thoroughly shaken up with a modern day swagger. Inspired and moved by the heartfelt notes of Radiohead‘s Jonny Greenwood’s guitar playing, MeMe Detroit released debut single (via her own label SoulRock Central Records) ‘Stand Up You’re Living’ followed by ‘Adelaide’ and a fan favourite, ‘A Point of You’.

The debut album Live to Love You’ll Love to Live, released in 2016 received great praise. Adam Zindani (Stereophonics) said ”This album made me feel something special from the 1st note I heard, brilliant debut from an artist that is writing way beyond her years”.

Her single ‘A Point of You’ attracted positive international attention including an invite on to BBC Introducing for an interview and live session.

Support slots include bands such as Dead Sea Skulls, Piano Wire, Fun Lovin’ Criminals and Asylums. MeMe is currently in pre-production for her next EP release with the next single ‘How She Runs’ (penned for the feature film My Saviour soundtrack) due for release in July. She is also preparing to tour the UK, Europe and the U.S. At the helm for the new album will be renowned record producer Steve Brown (The Cult, Manic Street Preachers).
