HUSKY LOOPS+ MUTT + HOLLOWS

Husky Loops are London’s next gripping new rock band, a sound that’s hard to pin down, even harder to pigeonhole.

Described as having a ‘sleazy, hot-footed noise’ where sharp, swerving riffs and unconventional arrangements are forged into strange shapes with an unorthodox delivery, Danio, Pietro and Tom first met at school in Bologna. Fast forward 15 years to a relocation to London to study at music college and the Royal College of Art, they put the finishing touches to their ultimate creation Husky Loops just over a year ago.

Since putting their debut track ‘Dead’ online at the start of 2016 they’ve already caught the attention of the very fine ears of Noisey, DIY, London in Stereo, The Line Of Best Fit, Huw Stephens, Apple Music, Music Week and Amazing Radio where ‘Dead’ has been on the B List for several weeks.

And now, fresh from a hugely successful first tour support with Sunflower Bean, Husky Loops are about to embark on their first European support dates with Yak.

Plus support from MUTT

Four bodies, fuzz and guts. MUTT are female-fronted, raucous, yet at times, curiously melodic. Think Sonic Youth and L7 meets the LOUDquietLOUDquiet pop spunk of Pixies with a twist of The Cure. Hailing from Birmingham and formed in early 2014, this feisty four-piece twist their influences beyond recognition to create a unique brand of uncompromising, unapologetic rock.

This event is presented by Birmingham Promoters & Dork.

Dork is a music magazine, FYI. Across a monthly print title, website, social media, mobile apps and live events, it’s dedicated to finding the best, most exciting music around. From discovering the freshest new talent to blasting out brand new bangers, Dork is there to shout about what’s great, not stand at the back worrying about looking cool. Down with boring.
