ACOUSTIC SESSIONS: BARNESY+ MIKE MOLONEY + GEORGE WILSON
2014 saw Barnesy make huge strides in the right direction. Having teamed up with Joe Dwyer and Joe Andrews at Mis-Management in March, Barnesy shared the stage with the likes of both John Lennon McCullagh and James Walsh (Starsailor). May saw Barnesy head over to Ibiza to play at the Ocean Beach Club opening parties – so impressed was co-owner Wayne Lineker he tweeted about his performance to his 117k followers and personally invited him back to play in September. June saw an appearance at the Lunar Festival to rave reviews, and August saw the Birmingham troubadour perform a much-anticipated set at Moseley Folk Festival. Barnesy is currently recording in the studio following the release of his single ‘Blue Flashing Lights’, mastered by the legendary Pete Maher.

Influenced by modern day romantic songwriters such as Richard Hawley, Patrick Wolf, Pete Doherty and 1950’s era ‘croon rockers’ Eddie Cochran & Buddy Holly, Mike Moloney blends pin drop intimacy with resounding guitar pop creating a sound he coins ‘anachronistic heart songs’.
